Henley's 2 churches were originally separate parishes either side of a stream. We folow the edge of town then climb to follow rolling hills to the ancient church at Preston Bagot. The going gets a bit boggy as we approach the Stratford-upon-Avon Canal, which we follow almost to lunch. After lunch and a prayer stop we join the Grand Union Canal southbound, with interesting features including Shewley Tunnel and the Hatton Flight of locks. We leave the canal for a while to visit Budbrooke church. In Warwick we pass close to the Castle on our approach to St Nicholas's where we will stay.
A&B Pilgrimage History: The 2000 Pilgrimage stopped in Henley-in-Arden, and we overlap through Beaudesert and again along the Stratford on Avon Canal. The 2011 Pilgrimage stopped in Warwick: we cross its route in the town.
