Today we will be leaving the town of Market Harborough via the “Brompton Valley Way” and heading into the nearby countryside and villages. The first village is Braybrooke, famous for its little bridge over the River Jordan. Its origins go back to 1401 and it was repaired in July 2024. Next we head across country and over the busy A6 road towards the village of Stoke Albany that has a pretty church, village hall, green and memorial. The lunch stop is ½ mile away from there in Wilbarston where pilgrims, by special arrangement, can eat their food inside “The Fox Inn”. After lunch we return to Stoke Albany and then head off to Weston-by-Welland and then on to Hallaton by way of quiet roads and tracks. We enter Hallaton along a passageway that is under the upper rooms of a house! Stenning Hall awaits.
