Arundel Pilgrimage 2015

Day 14: Upper Beeding to Storrington

This will be short and flat-ish walk following just below the South Downs, a beautiful area full of a very rich history. The Parish & Priory Church of St Peter's Upper Beeding was a place of rest for medieval pilgrims walking to Canterbury. We will be walking through the area where St Cuthman lived and then on to Washington (Washington means "the habitation of the sons of Wasa". I wonder if the Amercans know this). We pass the Church and Manor at Sullington which are mentioned in the Doomsday book. Make sure you check out the crusader knight!
