Pilgrims Live 2004 Gloucester to Chester : Justice & Peace

DAY ONE Journey to Gloucester

We gathered in Gloucester, the majority arriving in the coach from Redhill, but others coming by train, coach or in the car.

The journey complete, luggage was unloaded into our hall.

Beds were pumped up . . .

. . . and made use of . . .

. . . before we set of to the Cathedral . . .

. . . for sightseeing, an organ recital and choral evensong, which was part of the Three Choirs Festival (Gloucester, Worcester and Hereford Cathedral choirs).

Back at the hall, we celebrated our first pilgrimage mass together.

This included the presentation of pilgrim crosses.

This year they are based on Chester Cathedral cross - Chester being our final destination.

After mass, we had our first meal together . . .

. . . and then a group prepared tomorrow's lunch . . .

. . . before we settled down for the night in readiness for our first day's walking tomorrow.
