DAY SIX  Rest Day in Bexhill-on-Sea

Today was a rest day, and so we rested.

And that included both of us with digital cameras, hence a short report with limited pictures - although we do have a special treat for you to look forward to.

One of the high priorities for many pilgrims on a rest day is cleanliness and at our hall here in Bexhill we have the luxury of (cold) showers. Another feature of Bexhill, which must have been conceived with pilgrims in mind, is a launderette situated within a pub!

Once everyone felt thoroughly freshened and cleansed, many pilgrims headed either down to the front or into the town for a bit of shopping and by the middle of the afternoon most were sitting drinking either in tea-room or pub gardens, according to their taste.

Braver pilgrims didn't stop at the front, but continued across the beach and into the sea - which, incidentally, was slightly warmer than the showers - for a swim.

In the evening, a barbecue was held back at the hall thanks to Patrick's inspiration and organisation.

The following pictures hopefully give you some flavour of our evening.

Normally reporting will (hopefully) resume tomorrow.

And now a special treat for those who can cope - a video (345 KB) of Howard, Dennis and Joan in full swing:

And congratulations today to . . .

. . . Kevin and . . .

. . . Lauren, who received theirA level results during a mad dash to Gloucester and back. (No, by train - they didn't walk.)
